3ds max Polygon Modeling Layering deformers in the modifier stack I’ll open up the layer manager or layer explorer, and it appears in the lower right of the command panel. And here’s wall east backup. I’ll select it and then create a new layer from the selected object. Rename that, call it backup. And then make sure that it’s not the current layer. Make the default layer current, and then hide the backup. Okay, so we’ll go back to wall east and we’re done with a layer Explorer we can close that. And we want to convert this to editable poly. With it selected, right click anywhere in the Viewport, and choose Convert to editable poly. We just want to cut an edge loop right down the middle here. and the best tool for that is Quickslice.
