3ds max Spline Modeling Modeling walls with the Extrude modifier All right, now we can take a look at this in the Perspective view, Alt + W. And we’ve got the basics of our interior walls, and we can add an instanced modifier to all three of them to give them the same extrusion height. I can turn the snaps off. Select each one of those lines or rectangles. Hold down Control, and select all three.

And then from the Modifier List, choose Extrude. So here it is, Extrude. And there’s lots of different extrudes. This one is to extrude lines. And give it an extrude amount of 400 centimeters. And we know this is an instanced Extrude modifier because it’s displayed in italic type up here. If I deselect everything and select an individual object, we’ll see Extrude listed in italics. And it’s the same Extrude applied on all three, so we can change up the parameters, such as the height, at any time. And that’s how to create a floor plan with lines and the Extrude modifier, and it completes our chapter on spline modeling.
