Conforming one object to another – 3ds max Freeform Modeling We can choose the conform brush now, and now we have the conform options visible. And kind of importantly, we want to increase the conform amount from it’s default of point one. That default is actually not enough. If I click and drag on here, we can see that it is actually moving, it’s moving towards the landscape, but not enough.

Conforming one object to another – 3ds max Freeform Modeling So increase the conform amount, set that to it’s maximum of one, and then when we click and drag, as if by magic, that road conforms to the landscape. Alright very nice. Now we see there are a couple of issues here, which we can address, but first we want to make sure that the overall shape of this is the way we want it. And currently it’s not really the way we want. We want this to kind of curve and hug the landscape. And that’s how to conform one object to another, and in the following movie we’ll fine tune this, we’ll shift the road around on the landscape, using the “move conform” tool.
